Set up took a while, but had good instructions. The frame is very sturdy and the pads are very secure. I started from the beginning with a piano/drum amp and the sound reproduction was great, even at low volume. The different settings are very fun for different drum sets. All in all, very pleased, the test of time will tell if the controller lasts for years.

I was looking for a starter set for my 9 year old son. I read reviews on many low price models. The PED03 had the best reviews and I would have to agree. The sound is great, the sturdiness of the frame and pads are good. I'm hoping to add a Tom and replace the crash with cymbals from the PED02 model. If I can do that I would give this product 10 stars!!

I am a beginner and I think this set is a really good one for the price. The rack is sturdy. It was not too difficult to assemble and the sound is clear through good headphones (I use Sensheiser). Some of the connector clip screws were a little too short to tighten onto the rack properly so I had to get 3 pcs of something similar from the hardware store and that worked fine. Also, there are only 2 toms, not 3. So far, I have been repurposing a different pad for the 3rd tom. I assume I could purchase another pad for that use, though I haven't looked yet. There is a cable slot for it. I would recommend this brand to a friend. I have only had it a few days, however. If something changes, I will update this review.

I bought this set for my 10 year old son who is starting drum lessons. Once built the set has been fine. My main purpose was purchasing it was to have him practice quietly, and it achieves that purpose. However, it would be nice if you could hear it without headphones as well. Supposedly you need to attach speakers to make that happen. I need to look into that. I am a mom and put this together with my 2 kids. It took forever, most of one evening and part of the next morning. All those screws were a pain to attach securely. Im used to putting all the kids toys together, but I have to say this one was the worst. Thankfully, that part was a one-time deal. Also, one of the wooden drumsticks that came with it cracked after only about a week. Hopefully, thats not a sign of things to come for the rest of the set.
